Sponsorship for Students

Although the event is now fully booked (I can’t believe it “sold out” so quickly!) we do have spaces reserved for students studying on librarianship and similar courses.

We’re extremely proud to say that both CILIP Y&H and Copac/Mimas are generously sponsoring the remaining spaces at the event. I want to say a particular thank you to Joy Palmer and Keith Cole at Copac/Mimas for offering sponsorship after seeing our tweet for help!

So, if you’re a student who meets the course criteria, here’s what you need to do (depending on where you live)…

If you live in the Yorkshire and Humberside area

CILIP Y&H would like to sponsor around 5 students to attend Mashed Library. The sponsorship will cover your registration fee and also your travel costs. As Huddersfield has good rail links to the area, it’s expected that you’ll travel to Huddersfield on the morning of the event. If you’d prefer to travel in advance and pay for your own accommodation, that wouldn’t be a problem (however, you’ll only be sponsored for your travel costs).

If you live outside the Yorkshire and Humberside area

Copac/Mimas would like to sponsor 3 students to attend Mashed Library. The sponsorship will cover your registration fee and also travel & accommodation costs. The travel and accommodation costs will need to be reasonable, so no first class travel and no penthouse hotel suites! The accommodation will be for the night of Monday 6th July, so you’ll need to be free to travel to Huddersfield on the 6th July. We’d recommend getting to Huddersfield in the afternoon, so that you can meet some of the other delegates over a drink or two on Monday evening.

How to apply for the sponsorship

You’ll need to fill in the online booking form. Please ensure you include details of the course you are studying on. In the “Registration Fee” section, select the relevant sponsorship you would like to apply for.

As there will be a selection process, please use the last text box on the booking form (“What areas of interest do you have…”) to describe why you would like to attend and also what you would hope to get out of the event.

To ensure that those who receive sponsorship have plenty of time to prepare for the event, we will only accept sponsorship requests placed between now and 12 noon on Friday 15th May.

Once the 8 students have been selected, we will provide help with sorting out the neccessary rail and accommodation bookings.
