From Edinburgh to Canterbury, from Glasgow to Brighton

I must admit that I’d assumed “Mash Oop North!” would primarily be of interest to libraries in the north of England but, in the end, we’ve got several delegates who’ll be travelling over 250 miles to get here. From Brighton and Canterbury in the south, to Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland. We even had one registration from Australia, although Fiona is moving to the UK this month to start a new job.

Travelling by rail is the preferred option for the majority of delegates. Luckily Huddersfield has good express connections with both the East and West Coast Lines.

We’ll be catering for at least 6 vegetarians, 3 demi-vegetarians, 1 vegan, 3 different food allergies and 1 Brummie carnivore!

Most delegates will be bringing a laptop with them, but we’ll also have dual-boot Macs available for those without.

Going for a drink on Tuesday evening after the event is the preferred option (there might be about 25 of us doing that!), but there’s also a sizeable number who want to go to a pub on Monday night …and at least 3 delegates will be sampling the delights of Huddersfield’s finest pubs on both nights! Hopefully we’ll get chance to try The Rat & Ratchet, The Head of Steam, Vox, and The Zephyr Bar.
